Mission

This site is intended to become the heritage reference on Alfred Tomatis and his work. It gathers, orders and makes consultable a dispersed documentary heritage — articles, communications, interviews, original documents — for the use of researchers, students, journalists, biographers and historians of science.

It is an archives-and-memory site, not a commercial one. There is no shop and no sales pitch. The documents are presented for what they are: sources, dated and referenced.

Scope

The site covers the man and his work from the heritage angle: the historical material, the texts, the devices, the memory of witnesses. Scientific and professional matters on the one hand, and commercial matters on the other, fall to other poles.

Ecosystem

This site belongs to an ecosystem devoted to the work of Alfred Tomatis, organised into distinct poles: heritage — the object of this site —, science and the profession, and equipment. The strand devoted to equipment is handled separately at bessonofswitzerland.ch.

Creation and maintenance

This site was created and has been maintained by Christophe Besson for more than twenty years, on a voluntary basis and entirely free of charge.
