Electronic Ear of 1955

The control of this acoustic flow poured out by our mouth when we speak therefore falls largely to the skin. Should it lack sensitivity, that control is compromised, and bodily initiation through the spoken word is no longer possible. Rehabilitation consists in teaching the subject to use their body like a musical instrument. The skin must be able to turn into a true cutaneous keyboard, so that the subject is at last able to play their body in order to address others.

This theory led to the development of another apparatus capable of permitting both a self-monitoring through the ear and a materialisation of the verbal flow along the body: the Delay.
